The Drawing Room
A very elegant yet cosy room, it has two large
windows facing over the rose garden, the croquet
lawn and the parkland. The Drawing room is always
at the disposal of our guests, and tea of coffee
is available at any time.
This is where our visitors meet each other,
and make new friends, have tea and home made
cake on arrival, (unless we serve it in the
garden,) and it is where we gather before dinner
to enjoy a welcoming glass of wine, a tumbler
of Pimms, a gin and tonic, a whisky, or some
Champagne. Our drinks cupboard is very well
stocked.
The comforts and mementos make this room the
heart of the family home into which we welcome
you. Luxuriate in the deeply comfortable sofas
you just sink into, or relax with a book and
a glass of wine in a more upright upholstered
arm chair. Discuss the history of lovely old
pictures, clocks, antique furniture and lamps.
Chat to your hosts and your fellow guests, and
let your mind wander as you watch the fire flickering
in the handsome Adam fireplace which throws
a rosy glow before and after dinner on chilly
nights. Browse through a selection of magazines
and books, or indulge in a game of Majong, Cribbage,
Bridge, Backgammon or Draughts.
